IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cornell
Keaton
October 16, 1940 – January 27, 2019
Noah Cornell Keaton, Jr., son of the late Blanche Keaton and Noah Cornell Keaton, Sr., was born in Branchville, Georgia on October 16, 1940. He was raised in childhood by his beloved aunt, Rutha Williford.
"Pete" as he was affectionately called, had the awesome experience of growing up in a large and loving family of nine other cousins/siblings who would become his lifelong support. Over the years, he continued residing with his aunt and cousin/siblings while working as a farmer's helper until his retirement. He had an endless reservoir of love for his family—especially his cousin/sibling, Ruth "Skeet" Williford. Pete laughed often, felt unbridled happiness, and loved unconditionally. One of his finest qualities was gratitude. Even in the midst of declining health, he was always grateful for every good thing that came his way. He was a loving brother, a cherished cousin, and an unforgettable friend who touched the lives of people around him in a very special way. He will be missed by all who dearly loved him.
On Wednesday, January 27, 2019, he peacefully transitioned to eternal rest. In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by his aunt, Rutha Williford.
Fond memories will forever live in the hearts of by his siblings, Georgia Goseer and Johnny Goseer.
Pete also had a host of cherished friends and family who stood by him through his many hours of suffering and need. Terry Wilson, beloved friend and caregiver who stayed at his side, ran errands, responded to his cries in the middle of the night, and various other unpaid duties; Carolyn and Stacy Taylor, who religiously prepared home cooked meals every Sunday and ran special errands for him during the week; Sandra Thomas, who in the midst of her own illness took the time to provide food for Pete anytime he asked; and Michael and Larry, who transported him to and from the doctor.
