IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Curtis Lorenzo
Barnes
August 29, 1962 – December 12, 2020
Curtis Lorenzo Barnes was born August 29, 1962, in Albany, Georgia. He was the son of the late Charlie Ealy and Annie Pearl Gordon Barnes.
He received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System. Curtis dearly loved the Lord and attended church with his sister at the Cusetta Road Church of Christ while residing Columbus, Georgia.
"Curt" as he was affectionately called, was a very unique young man who greatly impacted everyone around him. While employed at Wal-Mart in Columbus, he learned to work hard and appreciate the little things in life. He was a loving and compassionate individual who never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Curtis had a fondness for music and oftentimes showed his "dance moves" when in the company of friends and family.
Always gentle and kind, Curtis had a special way of getting to know people and becoming a part of their lives. He was down-to-earth, humble, and a source of encouragement to everyone he met. One of his finest qualities was gratitude. Even in the midst of life's ups and downs, he was always grateful for every thing that came his way. He was an incredible brother, a loving uncle, a caring cousin, and a loyal friend. We were all his beneficiaries because his enthusiasm and exuberance were contagious. His strength helped us realize that every day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories.
On December 12, 2020, Curtis transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace and rest. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Lee Barnes, Jr. and David Lee Barnes.
Loving memories will forever remain in the hearts of his siblings, Annie Stoudemire of Junction City, KS; sisters-in-law, Emma Barnes and Silvia Barnes of Jacksonville, FL; two very special nieces and a special nephew, Cherisse Barnes of Junction City, KS, Latosa Thomas of Albany, GA, and Dollars Barnes; and a host of other nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
