IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Curtis Dewayne
Henderson
September 19, 1967 – August 15, 2017
Curtis Dewayne Henderson, son of James A. Henderson and Alma Henderson Telfair, was born in Albany, Georgia on September 19, 1967.
He was educated in the public schools of Sumter, Lee, and Dougherty Counties. While attending school in Dougherty County, he played football and participated in various other sporting events.
During the early years of his life, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with the St. John Baptist Church in Leslie, Georgia.
Duke , as he was affectionately called, was a very zealous, astute, and industrious young man who ate not the bread of idleness. For many years, he was employed by Sellers Tile where he labored untiringly until his health declined in 2015.
Although Curtis was an only child, he grew up as a brother to his cousins and a friend to all. He was a loving son and grandson, a devoted godfather, a cherished nephew, and an unforgettable cousin and friend. He had an engaging personality, enjoyed life to the fullest, and took advantage of every opportunity to spend time with his family and savor the beauty of life. The strong bonds of friendship that he developed throughout his life will long be remembered.
On Tuesday, August 15, 2017, Duke's earthly journey ended at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and he entered into eternal rest.
He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish fond memories his loving and devoted parents, James A. Henderson of Leesburg, GA and Alma (Jacob) Telfair of Albany, GA; his grandmother, Ethel L. Williams of Albany, GA; aunts and uncles, Louise (Clifford) Colsen of Pearson, GA, Mary (Jerome) Dennis of Lithonia, GA, Schenita W.
