Obituary

Curtis Mallard, Sr., son of the late Rufus Mallard and Rhodia Brown Mallard, was born in Blakely, Georgia on December 29, 1934.

He attended school in Early County, including Washington High School where he actively participated in various activities and events.

While yet a young man, Curtis sharpened his carpentry skills and talents that spilled over into his life-long career. He was employed by Phillips Floor Covering for many years and was hailed as a loyal, dedicated employee. Curtis was an extremely conscientious individual who firmly believed in working hard for what you want and always being willing to do the right thing.

Devoted husband, dutiful father, caring brother, committed uncle, and loyal friend, Curtis embraced opportunities and the chance to experience life with open arms. He was a delightful man with a big heart, selfless with his love, outgoing, and a real joy to be around. He had a spirit of sunshine that could be felt by all who encountered him. Curtis will be deeply missed by family and friends who loved him dearly.

On Wednesday, February 12, 2020, he departed this earthly life and transitioned to eternal rest. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Rufus Mallard; and four siblings, Milton C. Mallard, Sr., Mary Louise Leggett, Uzra Little, and Mosie Maddox.
