Darnell D. Riggins, Jr. was born in Albany, Georgia on April 5, 1976. He was the son of the late Darnell Riggins, Sr. and Lula Albritten
He received his early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System. Throughout his school years, Darnell was a lively, energetic young man who was always ready for adventure and actively participated in numerous student-centered events and activities. His joyful spirit was contagious and endeared him to many.
Early in life, Darnell accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was a dedicated member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bronwood, Georgia.
An extremely ambitious and persistent individual, Darnell was a "go-getter" who set goals for himself and stayed focused on achieving them throughout his employment with Cromartie Agriculture. No job assignment was too small or too large and he always tackled each task with equal measure and diligence.
Darnell was a loving father, committed brother, caring uncle, unforgettable cousin, and loyal friend who embraced life with open arms. Family was the center of his life and he took advantage of every opportunity to spend quality time with them. He had a big heart and nurtured relationships with people that remain to this day his life-long friends. His love of life, sense of humor and laughter, and energetic personality brought happiness and peace to everyone around him; thereby, creating memories that will always be remembered.
On July 7, 2024, Charles transitioned from this earthly life. Although his departure leaves a void, his spirit will live on in those left behind. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents.
Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of his children, Malik Riggins, Diavian Riggins, and Keandria Riggins; nephew and nieces who were nurtured and cared for as his own, Naporcha Riggins, Quantavius Riggins, and Laquonya Riggins; sibilings, Johnny Albritten and Sylvia Riggins-Moore (Jerry); aunts and uncles, Mary Byrd (Eddie), Lillie Jackson, Melody Mitchell, Clarence Mitchell, and Willie Mitchell all of Albany, GA, Margie Mitchell of LaGrange, GA, and Jessie Mitchell, Sr. (Charlie Mae) of Sasser, GA; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
