Obituary

David "Wayne" Wallace was born in Albany, Georgia on July 29, 1960.  He was the son of Irene Wallace and the late William Wallace, Sr.

He was educated in the public schools of Dougherty County, including Monroe High School.  Having developed a passion for sports early in life, he became one of the leading players on his high school varsity basketball team—-the Golden     Tornadoes.

David believed strongly in loyalty and commitment to his country, and proudly served in the United States Army.  He was a soldier to the core.  The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Army never left him, as friends and family can attest.  At the close of his five-year tour of duty, he was honorably discharged and, thereafter, transitioned to a career in safety and security.   For more than 20 years, he was employed by Parker Security where he provided security services in varied capacities.  His most notable assignment was at the Albany branch of the Georgia    Department of Labor.  David was an extremely driven professional with an unmatched work ethic.

On June 25, 1979, he was joined in marriage to his high school sweetheart and  love of his life, Maxine Hudson.  They shared a love that grew stronger with time and a devotion to one another that endured through the years until his demise.  Their union was blessed with three children—David, William, and Esoterica.  He was a devoted husband and father who looked well to the ways of his household, who never shied away from hard work, and who was a staunch supporter of his children and their activities.

David was a gentle giant with a big heart.  His love for family and friends was   infinite and he cherished each moment spent with them.  He was a protector and caregiver for anyone who needed him.  David loved life and his vibrancy brought life to everything and everyone around him; especially his famous trademarks—his fade haircut and cologne..  The strong bonds of friendship that he developed through the years will forever be remembered.  In his pastime, he enjoyed      fishing, grilling, walking, preaching, and engaging in hours of thought-provoking conversations.

On Thursday, April 11, 2019, David "Wayne" transitioned from this earthly life.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Denovia Green, William Wallace, Jr., Charles Wallace and Larry Wallace; mother and father-in-law, Essie Mae Childs Hudson and Dan Hudson, Sr.; and brothers-in-law, Arlester Hudson and Dan Hudson, Jr.
