IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Davious Emmauel
Hicks
November 1, 1990 – July 15, 2024
Davious Emanuel Hicks was born in Albany, Georgia on November 1, 1990. He was the son of the late Charlotte M. Hicks and Frederick Davenport.
He received his early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System. Throughout school, Davious was a lively, energetic young man with a spirit of sunshine that could be felt by everyone around him.
Very early in life, Davious accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was a member of Beulah Missionary Baptist Church and served faithfully under the guidance of Reverend L. D. Cobb, Sr.
Spending time with family and friends was a source of great joy in Davious' life and he had an endless reservoir of love for each of them. He was a simple, unpretentious man who truly cherished every moment of his life and always looked forward to a better tomorrow. Davious was also an avid sports fan who loved the NBA's Lakers, especially Kobe Bryant. Win or lose, Kobe and the Lakers were still his favorites. In addition to sports, he had a fondness for music and sometimes showed off his special "dance" moves. We all were beneficiaries because of his enthusiasm and exuberance were contagious and forever memorable.
On July 15, 2024, Davious transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest and peace. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Clouratee Hicks, Lela Hicks, and Martha Davenport.
Precious memories will forever be cherished by his grandfather, Deacon Edward L. Hicks, Sr.; his siblings, Arthur West, Yeshuna Davenport, Vladimir West, and Ethelya West; aunts and uncles, Gwendolyn G. Hicks, Jacquelyn (Roosevelt) Hicks, Sheila Lewis, Verona Few, Elizabeth Gibson, Dinetta Atkins, Joel Harvey, Edward (Joann) Hicks, Jr., and Robert Davenport; nieces and nephews; a special neighbor, Reverend W. D. Wilson; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
