IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Deacon Arthur
Lee Woodson
January 30, 1943 – October 6, 2024
Arthur Lee Woodson, was born in Dawson, Georgia on January 30, 1943. He was the beloved son of the late Webster and Rosie Bell Woodson.
He was educated in the Terrell County School System, graduating from Carver High School. Endearingly called "Mike" by family and friends, he was a young man of passion and purpose throughout his school years, excelled academically, and gained valuable technical and industrial skills that followed him into adulthood.
Growing up in a strong Christian home, Arthur's walk with the Lord began very early in life. As a youth, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior, was baptized, and received the right hand of fellowship into the body of Christ at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Dawson. It was there that his faith was renewed, his spiritual gifts were nurtured, his love for God was strengthened, and he gained a closer walk with the Lord. For many years, he devoted himself to unparalleled commitment and service as a member, and over 20 years to his calling as a Deacon. His encouraging words served as blessings for many people.
Deacon Woodson was united in holy matrimony to his friend and confidant, Linda Allen. They shared 24 extraordinary years and abiding love that overflowed with joy and true devotion to each other. He was an incredible husband and father who was full of wisdom, strength, love and humor; and he took great care in providing for his family.
A man of many skills, talents, and unquestionable work ethic, Deacon Woodson began his professional career at TW Grant Trucking. He spent 18 years traveling throughout the United States delivering goods and products—accident free! In later years, he accepted employment with Interstate Warehouse Company as a forklift operator. He was a very conscientious employee who took pride in his operative skills, always put safety first, and retired after 30 years of dedicated service.
On October 6, 2024, God called his faithful servant home. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two children, Shunkeisha Woodson and Faye Ham; and twelve brothers and sisters.
Loving memories will forever remain with his devoted wife, Linda Allen Woodson; his children, Elizabeth (Tim) Ross, Alexander Threats, Tewonna (Timothy) Jones, Kim Ross, and LaToya Woodson, bonus children, Michael (Charesse) Allen, Travis (Jamaica) Allen, and Corey Allen; siblings, Harold (Mattie) Woodson and Geraldine Seay; two sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Woodson and Essie Bronner; special friends, Rochell Harris, Willie Grier, and Dennis Polite; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
