Obituary

Deborah Diane Nealy was born April 29, 2960, in Albany, Georgia.  She was the beloved daughter of the late James Nealy, Sr. and Helen Nealy-Bardge.

She was educated in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from  Monroe High School in 1978.  While at Monroe, she actively participated in various student organizations, activities, and events.  Deborah was an inquisitive and talented young woman who valued education. She continued her quest for knowledge at Albany Technical College where she earned a certificate in Office and Busine Technology.

At a very early age, Deborah accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior.  She committed herself to lifelong season of Christian stewardship at Third Kiokee Baptist Church; always seeking to please God.  Her love for Christ and her church family was manifested in her daily walk, deeds, and actions.

Deborah was a conscientious, persistent individual with a deep sense of family loyalty, ties, and responsibilities.  She was a selfless, altruistic mother who was unwavering in her dedication to foster a Christian home filled with love, joy, and strong values.  Through the years, Deborah looked well to the ways of her household and ate not the bread of idleness.  For numerous years, she was employed as a legal secretary and paralegal.  While her work proved to be rewarding, she later transitioned to a career with the Direct Care Staff of AARC.  For more than ten years, Deborah worked hard to make a positive and lasting impact while consistently pursuing excellence in her daily work activities until her demise.

A lady of grace and fortitude, Deborah was known to have a nurturing and caring  spirit.  She was a trusted friend and confidant, a good listener who encouraged others with kind words, and openly welcomed family and friends into her heart and home.  The  bonds of friendship developed throughout her life will never be forgotten.

On April 26, 2021, Deborah was called home to be with the Lord.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Willie Clarence, John Wayne, James Jr., and Melvin Nealy.

Cherished memories will forever remain with her sons, Artavius (Jessica) Nealy and Keon Nealy of Albany, GA; a special nephew that she raised from birth, Ja'Norris Willis of Japan; five siblings, Marylin, Jacquelin, and Patricia Nealy all of Albany, GA, Margaret Mathis of Conyers, GA, and Reginald Hines; a sister-in-law, Linda Nealy of Atlanta, GA; uncle and aunts, Everett (Evelyn) Dorsey and Alfreda Dorsey of Mansfield, OH, and Alvonia Cross and Christine Dorsey of Albany, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
