A Time to Be Born: Delrick O'Neal McClendon was born in Albany, Georgia on November 28, 1792. He was the third child of the late Josie Rene Leverette and Willie McClendon.
A Time to Learn: As a man doeth good in his life, he rejoiceth and enjoys the fruit of his labor. Delrick received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating with honors from Albany High School in 1993.
A Time to Serve: At a young age, Delrick accepted Christ as his Savior and united with New Zion Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend W. H. Holloway. In later years, he was added to the body of Christ at the River Road Church of Christ under the guidance of Brother Arthur Medlock.
A Time to Work: At the age of 16, Delrick entered the workforce as a student in JTPA. He gained valuable knowledge and technical skills that spilled over into his employment with the Albany Housing Authority for 16 years. Every task assigned to him was looked upon with equal importance and he worked diligently to ensure that nothing was left undone. He later joined the ranks of employees at Streets ADC where he worked untiringly until becoming ill. Throughout his employment, he was a loyal, dedicated worker who always gave his BEST.
A Time to Embrace: Delrick was a very kind and loving person who embraced life's experiences with open arms. He had a big heart that opened freely to anyone in need and was a friend that you could count on. Anyone who knew him would agree that he was jovial and kind, but he was also straight-forward, unpretentious, and strong-willed. His will be deeply missed by family and friends who loved him dearly.
A Time to Rest : Challenged by lingering illness, Delrick transitioned from this earthly life at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. He has joined his parents in eternal peace and rest.
