Derrick D. Slaughter, son of Ruby Dean Slaughter and the late Willie L. Williams, was born in Albany, Georgia on March 5, 1978.

He received his formal education in the public schools of Dougherty County where he was active in various school functions and activities.

At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Derrick held fast to his belief that work is honorable.  He devoted much of his time and energy engaging in varied employment opportunities.  As a general laborer, he tackled each assignment with equal importance and prided himself in a job "well done."

"Bee" as he was affectionately called, embraced opportunities and the chance to experience life with open arms.  He was blessed with a genuinely warm smile and an engaging personality that captured the hearts of all who knew him.  His compassionate spirit and kind deeds enriched the lives of many people.

On December 11, 2017, Derrick's earthly journey ended and he transitioned from our midst.  In addition to father, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Earnestine Hightower.

Fond memories will forever be cherished by his loving mother, Ruby Dean Slaughter of Albany, GA; four children, Derrick Price and Zanatoria Warren of Albany, GA, Dequarious Ming of Cordele, GA, and Dexter Slaughter of Wahiawa, HI; five siblings, Christopher (Uvonda) Slaughter of Columbus, GA, and Willie Slaughter, Dexter Slaughter, Wilmeshia Slaughter, and Quiona Slaughter all of Albany, GA; one grandson, Derrick Price, Jr. of Albany; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
