Obituary

Dewayne Lamar Goines, son of Johnnie Christian and Carter Christian, Sr., was born in Albany, Georgia on May 9, 1969.

He received his formal education in the public schools of Dougherty County, including Monroe High School where he participated in numerous school activities and sporting events.

During the early years of his life, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.

He was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Laconia. They shared a love that stood the test of time and their devotion to one another grew stronger through the years. He was a dedicated father who loved without condition, encouraged his children to do the right things, and supported them in all of their endeavors. As a husband and father, he was diligent in caring for the needs of his family through his employment with LAD Construction Company. No matter what the task, he took great pride in his work and stayed the course to ensure that nothing was left undone.

Dewayne was a very outgoing individual who experienced life to the fullest. He laughed often, felt unbridled happiness, and loved unconditionally. He had a great sense of humor and a mischievous, endearing smile that always made you wonder what he was thinking. Dewayne was a loving husband, a caring father, a cherished brother and uncle, and an unforgettable cousin and friend who touched people in a very special way.

On Sunday, May 12, 2020, Dewayne departed this earthly life leaving a void in the hearts of family and friends. He was preceded in death by two siblings, Wendy Goines and Michael Goines.

Dewayne is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Laconia Goines; nine children, Desean Goines, Deandre Goines, Demiorrious Goines, Demontrell Goines, Demond Goines, Dewayne Hall, Demaricus Johnson, Queneisha Hall, and Cerria Walker; his parents, Johnnie Christian and Carter Christian, Sr.; five grandchildren; siblings, Carter Christian, Jr., Michael Whitfield, Lisa Gilbert, Pam Jackson, Regina Simpson, and Lisa Simpson; aunts and uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
