Obituary

The season of life for Diane Williams began on May 25, 1950.  She was the daughter of the late Tommy Lee Williams, Sr. and Viola Hill Williams.

During the early years of her life, she attended school in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.  She completed her education at A. S. Staley High School in Americus, Georgia where she was a vibrant and enthusiastic cheerleader.  Throughout school, Diane was an inquisitive young lady with a passion for learning .

Diane's Christian experience began at an early age when she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior.  In 2005, she united with Household of Faith in Americus, Georgia and served faithfully in various capacities.  Her faith in God kept her spiritually strong and she never ceased praise Him for the many blessings in her life.

Often described as a caring, hardworking mother, Diane had an everlasting love for her children and took great care in providing for their needs.  Over the years, she skillfully balanced her responsibilities as a homemaker with her employment as a cook at Hungry Man Restaurant and  a custodian at Georgia Southwestern College.  She firmly believed in working hard for what you want and always being willing to do the right thing, even in tough circumstances.

Diane had a servant's heart and caring spirit.  Rarely did she ask for anything, but often inquired as to how she could help others.  She was the rock and foundation for many people; never hesitate to extend her warm, care, and kindness; and readily welcomed family and friends into her home filled with good conversation, lots of laughs, and mouth-watering, delicious meals.   Diane truly lived a life full of meaning and purpose and will be missed by all who knew and loved her dearly.

On September 5, 2021, Diane transitioned from this earthly life to everlasting rest and peace with the Lord.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by her children, Johnny Frank Williams of Americus, GA, Kam Coleman of Atlanta, GA, Gwendolyn Williams (Ronny Reynolds) and Aneika (Jeffrey) Coleman both of Americus, GA; her brother, Willie C. Williams of Albany, GA; grandchildren, Shonemeca (Jay) Hill, Catrial (Kevin) Valentino, Alana (David) Moseley, Tangie (Aleem) Olayiwola, Corinne Coleman (Joel Poinsette), and Alan Terrell Coleman, Jr. all of Atlanta, GA, and Shanice (Lorenzo) Reddick, Ariel Harvey, Evelyn Stephens, Latisha (Christopher) Sims, and Warneika Thompson all of Americus, GA;  16 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special family friends.
