Donald Edward King was born in Camilla, Georgia on September 18, 1960. He was the beloved son of Bertha Louise King Thorpe and the late Joe Floyd.

He received his formal education in the Dougherty County and Essex County School Systems. During his school years, he was actively involved in numerous organizations, activities, and sporting events.

At a young age, he confessed his belief in Christ and joined Christ Missionary Baptist Church of Bluffton, Georgia. In later years, he fellowshipped with Abba's House of Prayer and Training Ministries.

Donald was a very persistent individual whose professional work life was diverse and rewarding. For numerous years, he was employed as a healthcare provider at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and Palmyra Nursing Home. With a spark of interest in the transportation industry, Donald completed the requirements to earn his Commercial Driver's License (CDL). His career as a bus driver included employment with the Albany Transit System, Fantasy Motor Tours, Albany State University, and Greater Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church Van Ministry until his health declined. Donald believed strongly in working hard for what you want and being willing to do the right thing.

Loving Son, devoted father and grandfather, caring brother, committed uncle, cherished cousin, and loyal friend, Donald embraced every opportunity and chance to experience life with open arms. He was a delightful man with a big heart, selfless with his love, and a joy to be around. His love for family and friends knew no boundaries and he touched their lives in a very special way. He will long be remembered for his generosity and unconditional love.

On May 7, 2020, Almighty God in His wise way, removed from this life the soul of Donald at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by four siblings, John R. King, Thyrone C. King, Artis Floyd, and Seketha Floyd Williams.
