Obituary

Donnell Knight, beloved son of Martha Knight and Steve Harper, was born in Albany, Georgia on April 3, 1976.

He was educated in the public schools of Dougherty County, including  Westover High School.  Donnell  was a very talented student with a burning passion for music.  Very early in his life, he taught himself to play the tuba and drums.  Throughout school, he eagerly utilized his talents and was often described by his peers as a "music master with a personality to make it count."

At a young age, Donnell accepted Christ at his Lord and Savior.  He was baptized at Jordan Grove Baptist Church in Leesburg, Georgia and remained humble and prayerful throughout life's journey.

A highly skilled forklift operator, Donnell had a widespread career with various companies in Albany and surrounding areas, Florida, Connecticut, North Carolina, and New Hampshire.  During his work years, he labored untiringly to ensure that every task was given his utmost attention and completed with extreme care.  He was an inspiring example of a worker who was totally committed to his profession as he rendered innumerable years of loyal and unwavering service.  Beyond work, Donell could be found outside enjoying nature and fishing.

Donnell, affectionately called "Butchy Boy" by family and friends, truly embraced life with open arms.  He was an awesome son, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend who cherished every moment of his life.  When in the company of family and friends, he was always the "life of the crowd."  His jokester nature and keen sense of humor captured the attention of everyone around him.  Donnell will be remembered as a happy-go-lucky guy who had a style and flair of his own, who cared deeply for his family, and who kept everyone laughing.

On May l1, 2023, Donnell transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Annie L. Jones, Leroy Snow, Florine Harper, and Steve Harper; aunts, Eunice Irving, Michelle Smith, and Deborah Jones; and his uncle, Eugene Jones.

Cherished memories will forever remain with his parents, Martha Knight and Steve Harper; his children, Antonio Rivers, Quintavis Seay, Donnell Knight, Jr., Qunishika Zackery, Shykedria Knighton, and Shynaydia Knighton all of Albany, GA; granddaughter, Promiss Seay of Albany, GA; sisters, Romonda Knights of Tampa, FL and Donnica Knight of Albany, GA; sisterly bonds, Latonya Hall, Patrina Washington, Catrina Fudge, and Sherry Sheddrick all of Albany, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
