Doreen Latrice Spurlin was born on December 16, 1972, in Albany, Georgia. She was the beloved daughter of Bernice Spurlin.

She was educated in the public schools of Dougherty County and graduated in the class of 1992. While attending school, she was active in numerous school organizations and activities.

At an early age, Doreen accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She grew up in River Road Church of Christ (now Gaines Avenue) where she was nurtured in the Word of God and was surrounded by a caring Christian community.

A beautiful free-spirited individual, Doreen was a devoted daughter; a loving mother and grandmother; a caring sister and aunt; a reliable niece and cousin, and a loyal friend and companion. She had the unique ability to turn an ordinary day into an adventure, a chore into an activity, and a boring evening into a memory. Although very outspoken, she was an absolute pleasure to be around. She believed in unconditional love, enjoyed vacationing and shopping, and treasured spending time with family and friends. She had a glowing personality that would lift your spirits and brighten your day.

On Tuesday, December 25, 2018, Doreen entered into eternal rest. Although our hearts ache with sorrow, we were so blessed to have shared her life.

She leaves fond memories to be cherished by her children, Jarsheque Spurlin and Johnquavious Spurlin of Albany, GA, and Ronecia Neal of Atlanta, GA; her loving mother, Bernice Spurlin of Albany, GA; five siblings, Linda Spurlin-Stephens, Barbara (Anthony) Spurlin-Robinson, Angela Spurlin, Leonard Spurlin, and Lionel Spurlin all of Albany, GA; grandchildren, Jayden Harvey, Jalayia Spurlin, Willie Sheard, Malcolm Ford, Jr., Monquavious Smith, and Johnquavious Spurlin, Jr.; and a devoted friend and fiancé, Ronald Green.
