IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Doris
Hagins
November 13, 1954 – January 18, 2024
Doris Hagins was born in Albany, Georgia on November 13, 1954. She was the beloved daughter of the late Ernestine Brown Moreland.
She received her primary and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Albany High School. Throughout school, Doris was a considerate, attentive young lady with a yearning to be of service and help others. She attended Albany Technical College where she completed the requirements to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN ).
A very conscientious and persistent individual, Doris held fast to her belief in professional work ethics and responsibilities. Over the years, she worked hard to consistently pursue excellence in her nursing career while serving her patients with dignity, respect, and true compassion. She had a natural gift for serving and making a difference in the lives of many people.
Affectionately known as Dell by family and friends, Doris was a caring, generous lady with a big heart and welcoming spirit. She believed deeply in unconditional love; saw the beauty in all things; accepted everyone for who they were; and openly welcomed them into her heart and home. Her friendliness, kindness, and deep devotion to all people are lasting tributes to her heart and soul. Dell was an extraordinary mother and grandmother, a committed sister and nurturing aunt, a loyal cousin, and the greatest friend anyone could ever hope for. She will always have a very special place in the hearts of all who knew and loved her dearly.
On January 18, 2024, Doris transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace and rest. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Malcolm "Keith" Brown, Linda Mayberry, and Willie Louise (Alphonso) Holsey; and her daughter-in-law, Anna Brown.
Cherished memories will forever remain with her children, Melody Brown Clark (Melvin), LaTonya Rich Lloyd (Verdell), and Robert Brown; siblings, Gloria Samuels, Nazalie Smith (Jerry), and Willie Harris (Patricia); grandchildren, Jakita Green, Adrianna Davis (Charles), Brianna Ford, Sierra Brown, and Joshua Green; nine great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
