Sister Dorothy Jean Harvey-Floyd was born on April 30, 1953 to the late LeAnna and Tommy Lee Knighton of Dawson Georgia.

Dorothy went on to glory in her sleep April 11, 2023 surrounded by loving family. She was a faithful and dedicated Jehovah Witness for over 25 years. She matriculated in the Terrell County School System and later graduated from Albany Technical College where she earned a degree in Nursing. Dorothy also graduated from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) of Tifton, Ga where she earned a degree in Social Work. Her love of caring for others influenced her decision to become a nurse where she worked at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for 20 years. Dorothy was known for accessorizing and if you got too close wearing eye catching jewelry; you might find after escaping her tight hug, that your jewelry is missing. Dorothy had a secret passion for drawing. She would draw portraits of family and friends with a unique and playful point of view.

Dorothy was married to the late Jackie Harvey for 31 years and later married Donald Floyd in 2018. She was a devoted and caring wife.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son Anthony Lorenzo Knighton; one stepson Nicolas Harvey and four siblings: Freddie Knighton Edwards, Idella Knighton Robinson, Henry Lee Knighton, and Lynda Jean Knighton. She leaves to cherish her love, husband Donald Floyd of Albany, GA; two daughters, Doretha MaGee (Patrick) of Cameron, NC and Cheryl Anita Knighton of Austell, GA; four stepchildren: Jeanette Harvey of Leary, GA, Jackie B. Harvey of Albany GA, Yetay Anderson (Ricky) of Albany GA, Cynthia Harvey of Reidsville, GA; father-in-law John Floyd of Albany, GA; two sister in-laws Deborah Floyd of Albany, GA and Katrina Floyd -Love of Albany, GA; one brother-in-law John A. Floyd Jr of Marietta , GA. ; four grandchildren: Terry C. Guest of Chicago, IL, Patrick MaGee II of West Hollywood, CA, Sinamen M. MaGee of Paris, France, and Kaiydn Knighton of Austell, GA.;special family and friends: Cheryl Linkhorn of Albany, Ga, Casture Richardson Harvey and Aretha Harvey of Sylvester, GA., and Alice Dorche of Chicago, IL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
