IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dorothy Runelle
Miller Daniels
January 19, 1941 – March 7, 2020
Dorothy Runelle Miller Daniels was born January 19, 1941, in Worth County, Georgia. She was the beloved daughter of the late Nettie Fowler and Doc Miller.
She was educated in the Worth County and Dougherty County School Systems and graduated from Monroe High School.
At a very early age, she accepted Christ as her Savior and united with Mercer Grove Baptist Church. She was a faithful member who served wherever needed. In later years, she united with Zion Grove Baptist Church where she continued her journey with the Lord.
Dorothy was united in marriage to the love of her life, Eddie Daniels. Their union endured through the years and was blessed with a loving family. She was a committed wife, mother, and grandmother who de-voted her life to caring for the needs of her family.
Growing up, Dorothy developed a fascination for broadcasting which followed her into adulthood. She was the first black female radio person-ality with V105 Radio Station and enjoyed enormous popularity in the broadcasting arena. She had a unique way of appealing to her listeners and tapping into the core of soulful music. Her knowledge of artists and their music was encyclopedic and her joy in sharing it was irrepressible.
"Queen B's" smooth, sultry, and soulful voice was a true gift that left a profound impact on the community. She was a charismatic, career driven, and generous lady who walked to the beat of her own drum. Her exuberant personality and kind spirit were contagious. To know her was to love and be inspired by her. In addition to her years in the entertain-ment industry, Dot was a skilled businesswoman and a civil rights activist.
On March 7, 2020, Dorothy/Queen B/Dot departed this earthly realm at Wynfield Park Health and Rehabilitation. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Eddie "Bay" Daniels; her beloved daughter, Toni "Penneye" Oliver; and six brothers, Johnny Johnson, Charlie Lee Smith, James Johnson, Melvin Johnson, Willie J. Johnson, and Robert Jenkins.
Loving memories will be cherished by her children, Edy Daniels, Curtis Davis, Seville Stephens, and Gamba Brown; grandchildren, Quamea Daniels, Adrianne Weltner, Jontrevious Mosely, and JaKyra Mosely; great grandchildren, Zachery Mosley, Xyvair Daniels, and Tramacus Clinton, Jr.; one brother, Waymon Fowler of Albany, GA; son-in-law, Johnny Oliver; brother-in-law, Willie (Manda) Daniels; three very special nieces/caregivers, Nettie Wilson, Vera Terrell, and Tanya Fowler; the Miller family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
