Obituary

Earl Franklin Price, Sr. was born in Worth County, Georgia on April 26, 2025.  He was the beloved son of the late Thornton Price and Arlease Hamilton Price.

He received his early childhood education in the Worth County School System.  After relocating to Albany, Georgia with his family, he continued his education in the Dougherty County School System, including Monroe High School.  Earl was an exceptionally inquisitive young man who gained valuable technical and industrial skills; garnered much from his educational experiences; and actively engaged in numerous student-centered activities.

Growing up in a strong Christian home, Earl was taught the Word of God and the value of living a purposeful life.  As a youth, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church.   Through the years, he was a resolute, prayerful servant who faithfully engaged in a Christian stewardship.   In later years, he continued his season of steadfast service at the First Faith Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Willie Bagley, Sr.  In all things, he was deeply rooted and grounded; and his unwavering belief and warm sprit touched the lives of everyone he met.

Earl was united in holy matrimony to Eula Dennis.  Their union was blessed with five children who were taught to love God and love each other.  Earl delighted himself in supporting his family in all their endeavors.  As a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he showered his family with unconditional love and often sacrificed his needs for their good.

Following in his father's footsteps, Earl's professional career in barbering proved to be one of his greatest accomplishments.  After completing his licensure requirements, he quickly established himself as a talented,  "first-class" master barber.  His career spanned over a period of 40+ years and thousands of haircuts.  The barber shop was his passion and he took great pride in his profession.  As a young entrepreneur, he owned and operated Price & Sons Barber Shop and R & P Barbershop.   Earl's hands were never idle as his towering "first-class" barbering reputation continued to grow. People from all walks of life flocked to him and were never disappointed.  Customers looked forward to the time spent in his barber's chair, his storytelling and conversation, and his unending humor.  His shop wasn't just a barbershop, it was a place to socialize; his clients were special to him—they were like family.  He was a man of the people who saw everyone for who they were, without judgment.   Over the years, he was an inspiring example of a successful businessman, mentor, and role model who generously gave his time and talents to help other young entrepreneurs and apprentices.  He served generations of clients whose lives were touched by him in a very special way.  Earl was also employed with the Dougherty County School System as both a filmmaker and bus driver.  No matter what challenges faced him, he was always positive, proactive, upbeat, friendly, hard-working, and pursued opportunities with vigor and determination.

Anyone who knew Earl also knew that he loved role as CEO of the Road Masters Motorcycle Club and being on a bike where he experienced great joy, adventure, and deep friendships.  If he wasn't on a bike, he could be found fishing or traveling.  He was compassionate, loving, and giving—oftentimes giving free haircuts to those in need.  Above his career, involvement, and hobbies, Earl's pride and joy was his family.   He spent countless hours attending events and activities in support of his children, grandchildren, and even great grandchildren.   It is fitting that the man who touched the lives of so many in his 85 years left an indelible mark in his community.

On April 26, 2025, Earl Franklin Price peacefully transitioned from this earthly life at the Lee County Health and Rehabilitation Center.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son, Earl F. Price, Jr.; his brother, Charles Price; and three grandchildren, Bryon Perry, Anthony Carter, and Earlandous Price.

Loving memories will forever remain with his wife, Eula Dennis Price; his children, Tonja Price of Albany, GA, Mike (Shirley) Evans of Jacksonville, FL, Lynette (Willie) Traylor of Bellville, TX, Alvin Bryant of Warner Robins, GA, Kanaya Carter and Yolanda Knighton of Albany, GA, Cheryl Revels of Thomasville, GA, Twyla Perry of     Albany, GA, Nicole Doward of Atlanta, GA, and Edrik Price of Albany, GA; 36 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; two life-long friends, Montezuma Taylor and June Walls; a special nursing home buddy, James Cheshire whose friendship brought him much peace and joy in his final days; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
