Obituary

Earnestine Parks, beloved daughter of Jency Williams and the late Grady Lee Shedrick, was born in Leary, Georgia on September 30, 1955.

She attended the public schools of Baker County where she was involved in numerous school organizations and activities.

From a very young age, Earnestine was nurtured in the Word of God. As a youth, she began her Christian journey with the Lord at Thankful Baptist Church in Newton, Georgia. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and willingly served wherever needed in the church.

Earnestine was a very loving, genuine, and strong individual—she was the backbone and glue that held her family together. She was an exceptional daughter, mother, grandmother, and sister who had a deep sense of family loyalty, ties, and responsibilities. One of her finest qualities was gratitude. Even in the midst of health challenges and adversities, she was always grateful for everything that came her way. Her stamina and strength helped us to realize that every day is a blessing and an opportunity to encourage others, to persevere and remain strong, and to create lasting memories. She will be missed by family and friends who loved her dearly.

On Monday, April 6, 2020, Earnestine was called home to eternal rest and peace. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ulysses Shedrick.

Cherished memories will forever remain with her mother, Jency Williams of Newton, GA; a special love, Barry Anderson of Newton, GA; two sons, Anthony Hanes and Roger Shedrick of Albany, GA; siblings, Judy (Larry) Wright, Gracie Wade, Martha Haywood (Ronnie Mott), Shirley Cole, Felicia Williams, Patricia Wallace, Rosa Williams, and John Christopher Williams all of Newton, GA, and Johnny (Jacquetta) Shedrick and Robert Shedrick of Albany, GA; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
