Eddie J. Barber was born on April 5, 1952 in Albany, GA. He was the beloved son of the late L. J. Barber and Ella Mae Barber.

He received his formal education in the Dougherty County Public School System.

At a very early age, Eddie accepted Christ as his Savior and later in life, he attended Bibleway Church where he became a member.

He was blessed with a strong work ethic. He worked many years for MacGregor, he was a grounds man for Riverside Cemetery and worked at New Flavor Restaurant. He had a passion for repairing cars and trucks for family and friends. One would say he was a "Jack of
All Trades".

On Wednesday May 31, 2023, Eddie answered the Master's call to eternal peace and rest. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings; Walter L. Barber and Lillian Barber Gilyard.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Megan Calhoun (Richard) of Leesburg, GA, his son John Goodman of Albany, GA, sisters; Betty L. Harris of Pocomoke City, MD, Arnella Bellamy (Menford) of Camilla, GA, Elaine Barber and Beverly Barnes both of
Albany, GA, brother; John H. Barber (Mildred) of Evan, GA, uncle Willie C. Mathis of Albany, great aunt Mattie Williams of Kokomo, IN; a special godson, Brandon Taylor (Chelsea) of Albany, stepsons; Anthony Williams and Antavious Park, seven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
