Eddie Lee Bell, Sr. was born on March 4, 1952, in Albany, Georgia.  He was the son of the late Horace Bell, Sr. and Louise Laster Bell.

He received his formal education in the Terrell County School System, graduating from Carver High School.  Throughout his school years, he was a very enthusiastic student who gained valuable life skills and actively participated in numerous school functions and activities.

Eddie believed strongly in family ties and responsibilities.  He was formerly married to Geraldine Jones, Eva Marshall, and Marilyn Walters.  With these unions he became the father of ten children—Stanley,  Adrien, Cosandra, Kelvin, Metrindeline, Palanthia, Timothy, Shekita, Devon, and Eddie Jr.  Eddie was a very persistent, independent individual whose abiding love and support for his family was the hallmark of what he lived for.  For more than 37 years, he poured himself into his work with the City of Albany—Water, Gas, & Light Divison as a Pipe Maintenance Technical Supervisor.  No matter what the task, he was able to tackle any job assignment with seemingly endless energy; always giving his very best.  Upon retirement, he was lauded as a loyal and dedicated employee whose work ethics, commitment, and service were unsurpassed.  Eddie was highly respected by the Company and his fellow workers.

Loving father, doting grandfather, caring brother and uncle, committed cousin and friend, Eddie was a good-hearted, kind man with a keen sense of humor.  He loved spending time with family and friends, was passionate about his card games that "winning" was a must, and he truly appreciated the simple pleasures of life.  His uncanny smile and kind deeds will be missed by so many people who loved him dearly.

On August 26, 2024, Eddie transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kelvin Jordan; and his brother, Robert Lee Bell.

He leaves loving memories that will forever be cherished by his      children, Stanley (Janice) Bell, Adrien Bell McIeish, Cosandra Bell, Metrindeline Cummings, Palantia Bell, Timothy Whitfield, Shekita Gooden, Devon Whitfield, and Eddie Lee Bell, Jr.; siblings, Horace (Belinda) Bell, Jr., Bennie Laster, Kenneth Laster, Jimmy Lee (Brenda) Bell, Willie Mae (Luther) Pitman, Flossie (Nathaniel) Sims, Shirley Jones, and Tommy Lee (Velma) Bell; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
