Eddie C. Redding, son of the late Clarence Redding and Frankie M. Boyd Redding, was born in Calhoun County, Georgia on February 6, 1944.
He received his formal education in the Calhoun County School System where he participated in various school organizations and activities.
Throughout his childhood, Eddie was nurtured in the word of God. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. Through the years, he was a humble servant of the Lord and served faithfully on the Deacon Board at Miracle Baptist Church.
He was united in holy matrimony to his beloved Iola Reese. Their union stood the test of time and endured through the years. As a husband, father, and grandfather, he held fast to his belief that work is honorable and devoted much of his time and energy to his employment at Bill Thompson Tire Company of Albany. He was a dedicated employee who labored untiringly, prided himself in a "job well done", and retired after 27 years of loyal service.
Deacon Redding was a man with a big heart and a quiet and humble spirit. He was a very genuine person who loved the Lord, his family, and his fellowman. He greeted each day with a smile and touched the lives of many with his kind words and deeds.
On Monday, July 2, 2018, Deacon Redding answered his final call and entered into eternal rest. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, April Redding; and three siblings, Clarence Redding, Jr., Frank Redding and Charley Bell Redding.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories a loving and devoted wife, Iola Reese Redding; six daughters, Joyce Ann Redding of Fayetteville, NC, Duke Redding, Francine Redding, Cynthia Redding, Tomikko (David) Anthony, and Laporsha Laster all of Albany, GA; three sons, Jarrell Redding, Derrick Laster, and Darrell (Shuntora) Laster all of Albany, GA; 39 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; one brother, Charlie Redding of Albany, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
