Edward Brown, beloved son of the late Willie Greggs and A. Brown, was born in Morgan, Georgia on February 1, 1940.
A life—long resident of Leary, Georgia, he received his formal education in the Calhoun County School System where he participated in various school activities.
Throughout his childhood, Edward was nurtured in the word of God. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with the Saint Maryland Missionary Baptist Church of Leary, Georgia, under the leadership of the late Reverend Zack Bailey. Over the years, he served faithfully as a Deacon and a member of the choir. He loved singing and praising God and his faith never wavered.
Edward was an exceptionally conscientious individual who constantly sought better opportunities. His professional career was very diverse and included employment with Lilliston, Lunsford Lumber Company, and Chehaw Park where he retired after rendering innumerable years of loyal and dedicated service. Throughout his career, he gave his best at all times.
Family and friends meant the world to Deacon Brown and he delighted in spending quality time with them. He was a kind and generous man who greeted each day with a smile and touched the lives of many. You couldn't know him without being inspired by his love and devotion to his family, friends, and community. He will long be remembered for his loving and supportive spirit.
On Wednesday, February 5, 2020, he transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace and rest. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Marilyn Brown.
He leaves fond memories that will be forever cherished by his cherished by his children, Ted Brown Tony Brown, and Sophia Brown of Albany, GA; step-children, Roger (Loretta) Williams of Albany, GA and Sabrina Williams of Atlanta, GA; his sister, Ruby Brown; grandchildren, Shelby Brown, Alex Brown, Toni Brown, Rogers Williams, Jr., Justin Williams, Christopher Williams, Kaleb Brown, and Mattie Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
