Obituary

Elma Allen McIntyre was born in Newton, Georgia on October 13, 1923.  She was the beloved daughter of the late Henry and Alice Allen.

During the early years of her life, she was educated in the Mitchell County School System.

Raised in a strong Christian home, Elma was nurtured in the Word of God throughout her childhood.  As a youth, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with St. John Baptist Church of Camilla, Georgia for a lifetime of Christian stewardship.  Through the years, she was a faithful, dedicated member who willingly served in numerous capacities wherever needed.  "Ms. Elma and Mother McIntyre" as she was endearingly called by many, was a prayer warrior who was strong in her faith, in character, and in wisdom.  She was a shining example of humility and respect, and God's love for all mankind was manifested through her deeds and actions.

She was united in marriage to her life-long mate, Robert Lee McIntyre, Sr.  They shared a love that was strong and a devotion to one another that was unshakeable.  Together, they embarked on a life filled with love and true devotion to each other.  As a wife, she supported her husband in all of his endeavors; as a mother, she worked tirelessly to ensure that her children were nurtured in the admonition of the Lord.   Sharing time with family was paramount in her life.  She was a devoted wife and mother who ate not the bread of idleness and always sacrificed her needs for the good of her family.

Mother McIntyre lived a rich and rewarding life; reached the hallowed age of 97; and lived to see generations of her off-springs with whom she left a legacy of love, humility, generosity, and godliness.  She had a servant's heart and took great pride in using her God-given talents to help others.  Ms. Elma had a quiet strength, but she was also direct; straightforward, and very outspoken.  She was a friend you could count on, true to her word, and never knew a stranger.  In her leisure, she enjoyed traveling, sewing, and fishing.

On September 10, 2921, Mother McIntyre quietly slipped away to eternal rest at her home.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert Lee McIntyre, Sr. and her son, Cornelius McIntyre.

She leaves fond memories that will forever remain with her daughters, Hilda (Willie) Foster of Albany, GA and Jeanetta Caison of Atlanta, GA; stepson, McIntyre, Jr.; a very loving and special granddaughter, Trasha Clark (Freddie); grandchildren, Eric Caison, Karlos Caison, Bridgett Caison, Tiffany Caison, and Kenyetta Caison; three very special great grandchildren, Keith, D'Erika, and D'Narius; a special niece, Ethel Butts; step-grandchildren; twelve additional great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
