Obituary

A Time To Be Born: Elois Walker Wesley was born December 19, 1928, in Clayton, Alabama.  She was the sixth of eleven children born to the late Ike Walker, Sr and Nancy Liptroth Walker.

A Time To Plant: Elois was educated in th Barbour County School System. She was a 1951 graduate of Barbour County Training School. At an early age, she joined Salem Baptist Church in Clayton, Alabama.  Upon moving to Albany, Georgia, she united with Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Lockett. In 1965, she joined Third Kiokee Baptist Church under leadership of Rev. R. B. Smith, Sr.  She was a faithful member of Senior Choir and Florist Club until her health failed.  She was employed at Peggy Hale Clothing Store, Funkston Pecan Company, and Nut Tree Pecan Company, retiring in 1991.

A Time To Love: Elois was united in holy matrimony to Willie T. Wesley, Sr. in 1953. This union was blessed with three children whom she loved unconditionally. She was very humble, hardworking, caring, and highly respected.

A Time To Die: Elois departed this life at home on May 10, 2019, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.  In addition to her    parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lula Walker Christian; son-in-law, Oscar Christian, Jr.; six siblings, Janie Buford, Ressie B Lowe, Freddie B. Walker, Eddie C. Walker, Clyde Walker, and Melvin Walker; daughter-in-law, Lovetta Christian Wesley; and her grandson,  Terry A Wesley.

A Time To Remember: Elois leaves to cherish her memories,  three children, Shirley W Swan and Ira L. Wesley of Albany, GA, and  Willie T. (Jeanette) Wesley, Jr. of Panama City, FL;  goddaughter, Paulette Thornton of Albany, GA; seventeen grandchildren, Curtiss (Helen) Walker, Gwendolyn (Bernard) Wilson, Brittany Christian, Nekisha Swan, David (LaShonda) Swan, Jr., Chandra Wesley, Kimberly Wesley, Shunta Wesley, Terrance (Constance) Wesley, Tierra Newsome, Katrina Christian, Antellia (Mike) Jones, Kimberly Culbreth, Seddrick Culbreth, Melissa Alexander, Etris (Takeeka) Smith, and Portia Smith; forty-four great grandchildren; thirty great-great grandchildren; four siblings, Alva M. Fenn, Ike (Maxine) Walker, ,Jr. , and Thomas (Delois) Walker all of Albany, GA, and George Walker of Haines City, FL; a dear friend, Mattie Moreland of Albany, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
