Obituary

The season of life for Emma Jean Lofton Butler began on December 1, 1944 in Randolph County, Georgia, when God entrusted her in the care of the late O. C. and Johnnie Bell White Lofton.

As she sprouted and grew, she attended the public schools of Randolph County.  At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior.  In later years, she united with Highway Pentecostal Church under the leadership and guidance of Pastor Leonard Andrews.

Emma was joined in holy matrimony to Ben Arthur Butler, Sr.  Their union endured through the years as they honored their vows to love and cherish each other.  As a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she was a very meticulous homemaker who took care in providing for her family.

Affectionately known as "Gallie" by many, Emma was a very kind-hearted individual with an endless reservoir of love for her family and friends.  She was a giver and was always willing to give everything she had to put a smile on someone's face.  Gallie had a spirit of sunshine and laughter that could be felt by everyone who encountered her.  She always found the good in people and could make a friend wherever she would go.  In her free time, she was often found enjoying the outdoors and savoring the beauty of the earth.  She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of being a part of her life.

Gallie's earthly season ended at her home on July 20, 2019, and she transitioned to eternal rest. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ben Arthur Butler, Sr.; and her son, Ricky Lofton..

Loving memories will forever be cherished by her loving daughter, Lisa King Drake; goddaughter, Hillary Hudson; three siblings, Raymond (Elizabeth) Lofton of Long Beach, CA, and Johnnie Will Lofton and Gertha Farrior both of Albany, GA; grandchildren, Ronald King, Kelvin Drake, Jr., Jarvis Drake, Tequlia Drake, Savannah Lofton, and Lakisha Lofton; numerous great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
