December 16, 1960 – July 22, 2024
Eric Van Horton, 63, of Albany, Ga was born on Dec 16th, 1960, to the late Mr. William and Mrs. Georgia Horton. On July 22nd, 2024, his journey to life came to an end at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. His brother, Cedric Horton and his niece, Takishka Flemming was by side when he gained his eternal wings.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Catherine Horton and Gregory Horton.
He was educated in the Dougherty County School System. He graduated from Monroe Comprehensive High School with the Class of 1978. Upon graduation, he joined the US Army and where he served his country faithfully for 5 years and 7 months.
After his time in the military, he entered the work force where he was gainfully employed with various employers and last worked with XLC Services for 18 years.
In his leisure time Eric enjoyed hanging with his family and friends, listening to his favorite tune and dancing. He was one to laugh the loudest when amongst family and friends. He also was a huge fan of the Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Bulldogs. He could always be seen wearing his favorite team gear. He was always one to want to have a good time, be encouraging and being positive with his family.
His memory will forever be cherished with his son, Jamal(Tamara)Davis, his daughter Danielle Horton and his grandchildren Kevin Paige and Jeramiyah Moye.
He leaves behind his siblings: Delmos(Wanda)Horton, Lynda Davis, Gale Moreland and Cedric Horton; his aunts: Brenda Lawson and Ruby Hayes and his Uncle Wesley (Ruby) Hayes. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
