Eric Roberts, Jr. (EJ) was born on November 5, 1995, in Albany, Dougherty County. He was born to the late Mandela Roberts and Eric Roberts, Sr.

Eric's health diagnosis was new to us, but we recognize that God knew the day, the hour, and the very minute that his suffering would cease.  His appointed day was Wednesday morning, June 22, 2022, at the age of 26, with family at his side. Eric was under the care of the doctors and medical staff, at the Emory University Hospital, in Atlanta, GA.

Eric Roberts, Jr. was considered to have a quiet strength. He allowed his actions to be his voice. One most important step was accepting Christ as his Lord and Savior. He joined the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, at an early age. Eric attended regularly, sang in the choir, and participated in Sunday School.

Through life's journey, Eric traveled many different paths, which resulted in valued experiences and meaningful accomplishments. He loved sports and showcased his talents beginning with little league baseball and football. His first stage of former education began with the Dougherty County School System, until he, his mother and sister relocated to the Atlanta area. Eric then enrolled in the Gwinnett County School System, where he played football and was awarded MVP multiple times.

Eric began employment as a youth and worked at Albany State University (Youth Program). He later became employed with Murphy USA, Hilton and was employed with Walmart, in Gwinnett County, as stocker, until his demise.

Laughing and having fun with family and friends was top priority, for Eric. He was an avid fan of music and made multiple visits to the studio with his sister Dominique, and friends.

In addition to his mother-Mandela, Eric was predeceased by his sister, Iderica Luke; great grandmother, Irene Cheeks Ball; grandmothers, Essie Hillman, and Diane Roberts; and grandfather, Charles Lee Hillman.

Eric will be lovingly remembered by his father, Eric Roberts, Sr.; stepmother, Michelle W. Roberts; beloved sister, Dominique Roberts; sister, Quanderica Luke; grandfathers, Willie Goines, and Larry Roberts; special aunts, Tamika La'Sha Goines, and Samira Roberts; uncle, Chamanski Ladarian Goines; cousin Shandoria Goines; and 3 nieces and 2 nephews. Memories of Eric's life will be forever cherished by additional aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends.
