Earnest Lee Walker

With profound respect and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Earnest Lee Walker, who departed this life on June 27, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on November 19, 1938, Earnest’s life was marked by perseverance, kindness, and a steadfast dedication to those around him.

Earnest Lee Walker’s journey was one of quiet strength and unwavering principles. Across his years, he became known for his warmth, generosity, and integrity. Through each chapter, he touched lives with a gentle hand and a firm sense of purpose, leaving an indelible imprint on those who had the privilege to know him.

Family, friends, and all who admired him are invited to gather and honor his memory. A viewing will be held on July 10, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Martin Luther King Memorial Chapel, located at 1908 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, Albany, Georgia. The funeral service will take place on July 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Doretha H. Payne Chapel at Martin Luther King Memorial Chapel, at the same address. Burial will follow at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery, 120 Old Pretoria Road, Albany, Georgia. Afterwards, a repast will be held at U. S. 19 Church of Christ, 724 Liberty Expressway, Albany, Georgia, where those whose lives were touched by Earnest can share memories and support one another.

Though his presence will be deeply missed, Earnest Lee Walker’s legacy endures in the hearts of all who remember him for the dignity, compassion, and strength he brought to every aspect of his life. As we say farewell, we give thanks for the many ways he enriched our world and hold close the cherished memories he leaves behind.
