Obituary

Estella Clark Jones was born in Albany, Georgia on January 27, 1949. She was the daughter of the late Nettie B. and Elzie L. Clark, Sr.

She was educated in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Monroe High School in 1967. While at Monroe, she was a majorette with the marching band and dazzled crowds with her baton twirling and fancy footwork at halftime football games and parades.

Estella was a considerate, attentive young lady with a yearning to be of service and help others. She attended Albany Area Vocational School, earning a diploma in Nursing.

As a youth, Estella began her fellowship with Christ at Beulah Baptist Church and served faithfully for numerous years. She later united with the Mercer Grove Baptist Church (New Birth Fellowship Church) where she continued her walk with the Lord. She was a dedicated member whose faith never wavered, was steadfast in service, and remained spiritually strong throughout life's journey. Estella was a loving and caring mother who looked well to the ways of her household and ate not the bread of idleness.

For more than 40 years, she demonstrated excellence through her lifelong contribution to the field of nursing. Throughout her career, she was very conscientious in serving her patients with dignity, respect, and true compassion. She had a natural gift for serving and making a difference in the lives of many people. A very outgoing and jovial individual, "Stella" had a big heart and a welcoming spirit. She believed deeply in unconditional love and stood ready to help anyone in need—always with a smile and never asking anything in return. Her friendliness and kindness to all people and her devotion to family and friends are lasting tributes to her heart and soul. On July 22, 2021 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Estella was called home to be with the Lord. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving brother, Elzie Clark, Jr.

She leaves a legacy of caring and love that will be forever cherished by her daughters, Glynda (Demetrius) Sampson, Jessica Johnson, and Jennifer Johnson; two granddaughters, Jana' Beasley and Londyn Hart; a devoted sister-in-law, Cassie Clark; niece and nephew, Ursula C. Johnson and Elzie Clark III; best friend, Elaine Hicks; and a host of extended family and friends.
