IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ethel Mae
Wright
March 20, 1939 – December 15, 2023
Mother Ethel Mae Thrower Wright was received in Albany, Georgia on March 20, 1939, to the late Robert and Sarah Thrower.
She received her primary and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System. Throughout school, she was a very considerate, attentive young lady with a deep yearning to be of service to others.
Hailing from a strong Christian home, Mother Wright became a soldier for Christ very early in life. Over the years, she devoted herself faith-fully to God's calling on her life. She dearly loved the Lord and fervently availed herself in service at New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church as Mother of the church. Mother Wright inspired many to go forth in the Lord. Her position of Church Mother was not just a title, it was her life. You could not know her without being inspired by her unfaltering devotion to her church; and her strong faith and convictions.
Mother Wright was a woman of extreme strength, courage, and love who looked well to the ways of her household. Her passion for being of service and helping others allowed her to have a profound professional career in home healthcare. As a caregiver, she was most conscientious in serving her patients with dignity, respect, and true compassion. She had a natural gift for serving and making a difference.
A real people person and awesome conversationalist, Mother Wright had a way of looking into your soul and knowing just what you would need to make you grow. Her words of encouragement and genuine concern for others has left an indelible mark in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be remembered by many as an unselfish servant with a sweet spirit, a great cook, fun-loving, and a dressy "fashionista."
On December 15, 2023, Mother Wright released when she answered the Master's call to eternal reward. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four children, Nathaniel Wright, Anthony Wright, Patricia Wright, and Steven Wright; and her siblings, Elizabeth Brown, Agnus Blue, Mary Austin, Roxella Thornton, Adella Young, Mattie Thrower, Viola Thrower, Susie Thrower, Willie C. Thrower, Clarence Thrower, Neg Thrower, and others who passed at birth.
Fond memories will forever be cherished by her children, Sandra (Ozell) Roberts, Adolph Wright, Calvin (Deborah) Wright, Michael (Marilyn) Wright, Derrick (Diane) Wright, Pernell Wright, Ronald Wright, Donald Wright, and Roderick Wright; siblings, Jim Thrower, James Thrower, Joseph Thrower, Eddie Thrower, Bernice Jones, Terry Thrower, Annabelle Sutton, Rutha Foster, Matt Thrower, Beverly Thrower, Melvin Thrower, and Martha Thrower; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
