IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eugene
Jones
February 4, 1959 – December 11, 2017
Eugene Jones, son of the late Annie Lou and J. B. Jones, was born in Albany, Georgia on February 4, 1959.
He grew up in Albany where he attended the public schools of Dougherty County, graduating from Dougherty High School. While at Dougherty, was an exemplary player on the Trojan's football team.
Eugene was an incredibly skilled brick mason and carpenter who diligently utilized his talent in the construction industry for more than 30 years. His expertise, workmanship, and professional ethics yielded him the reputation of being "top notch" in his field. Eugene looked upon each of his tasks equal importance and gave each of them his ALL.
"Charlie Brown" as he was affectionately called, wore many hats over the years. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, and most importantly—father. He was a good natured, generous man with a big heart and a pleasure to be around. Eugene believed deeply in unconditional love, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and delighted in helping others—never asking anything in return. Like a bright star, he had a gigantic smile that could light up a room and bring joy to everyone around him. The strong bonds of friendship that he developed through the years will forever be cherished and remembered.
Life's journey quietly ended for Eugene on Monday, December 11, 2017.
Fond memories will forever be cherished by his sons, Tyler Eugene Jones and Anthony Eugene Jones; eleven siblings, Dorothy Mack and Janet Jones of Philadelphia, PA, Martha Knight, Annie Sheppard, Linda Jones, Michelle (Anthony) Smith, Barbara Grimes, Johnnie B. Jones, Thomas G. Jones, and James K. Jones all of Albany, GA, and Michael (Cami) Jones of Atlanta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Favorite Saying: "I'm going to the Ponderosa with my Chuck Taylor's on."
