IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eugene Kennon,
Jr.
October 21, 1966 – December 1, 2023
Eugene Kennon, Jr., son of Ann Stevenson and the late Eugene Kennon, Sr., was born in Albany, Georgia on October 21, 1966.
He received his early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System. Eugene continued his education at Albany Technical College where he completed both the Truck Driving and Diesel Mechanics programs. A very perceptive, astute individual who took advantage of every opportunity to learn and grow, he also met the requirements to earn his Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
At a young age, Eugene accepted Christ at his Lord and Savior under the guidance of Reverend ?? Wilson at Mt. Hebron Missionary Baptist Church. He dearly loved the Lord and remained humble and prayerful throughout life's journey.
Eugene's keen interest in "big rigs" and his educational training helped launch his life-long professional career as a self-employed truck driver. As an over-the-road transportation specialist, he traveled throughout the United States ensuring that manufactured products, services, and goods were delivered in a timely manner. Over the years, he took great pride in his driving skills and his accident-free work record.
Loving son, devoted father and grandfather, one-of-a-kind brother and uncle, committed cousin, and loyal friend, Eugene had a big heart for all things and found joy in every circumstance. His sense of humor had a way of lighting up a room and there was never a dull moment when he was around. The joy of his life was spending time with family and friends who often referred to him as a peace maker, a man of joy and laughter, and a good-hearted man that everyone could rely on. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of being a part of his life.
On Friday, December 1, 2023, Eugene transitioned from this earthly life at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Cherished memories will forever remain with his loving mother, Ann Stevenson; his children, Kiwanda Kennon and Eugene Kennon III; grandchildren, Tykeria, Chavayion, and Cailyn; aunts, Shirley Taylor and Alice Moultrie; a special sister/friend, Teresa Jackson; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
