IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eura Dell
Thomas
September 3, 1943 – January 13, 2025
Eura Dell Ousley Thomas was born in Sasser, Georgia September 3, 1943. She was the loving daughter of the late James Ousley and Leola Dames Ousley.
She received her formal education in the Terrell County School System. Throughout school, Eura Dell was a very considerate, attentive young lady with a yearning to be of service and help others.
Affectionately called "Della" by family and friends, began her spiritual journey at a young age when she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior; was baptized; and became a member of County Line Baptist Church in Sasser. She was a prayer warrior who was deeply rooted and grounded in the Lord. Her faith never wavered and she remained spiritually strong throughout life's journey.
Domestic at heart, Della was steadfast in her dedication to foster a home filled with love, joy, and strong values. As a mother, she ate not the bread of idleness and always sacrificed her needs for the good of her family. She was full of energy, stayed on the move, and was well organized—everything had its place! Della was also blessed with supreme culinary skills and often prepared mouthwatering soulful feasts for family and friends to enjoy. Her doors were always open and her table was always spread. Family was paramount in her life and she enjoyed making them laugh. One of her greatest qualities was her ability to encourage people to make the best of everything. Yes, she was a beacon of light and love and will be deeply missed.
On January 13, 2025, Eura Dell/Della peacefully transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace and rest. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Ousley, Jr., and her stepdaughter, Valerie Gibson.
Loving memories will forever remain in the hearts of her children, John Edward Thomas (Bridget), Mark Clinton Thomas (Amanda), Reginald Leonard Thomas (April), Gregory Thomas (Natasha), and Malissa Rena Thomas; stepchildren, John Hill and Dallas Thomas (Tamara); siblings, Josephine Ousley Wright, Rosie Lee Ousley, Ola Pearl Bellamy (Harrison), Lugene Ousley, and Evangelist Thessolonia Ousley Stubbs; 21 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
