Eva Latimer Walker, daughter of the late Terry and Laura Iverson Latimer, was born in Terrell County, Georgia on July 19, 1934.
During the early years of her life, she attended the public schools of Terrell County, participating in various school functions and activities.
Very early in life, she heeded the call of Christ and began her Christian journey. In later years, she united with the Greater Cutliff Grove Baptist Church where she served until her demise.
She was united in holy matrimony to Lindsey Walker. Their union endured through the years and was blessed with a loving family with whom they spent many happy years. As a wife and mother, she was a very meticulous homemaker who took great care in providing for her family.
Ms. Eva and Mother Walker, as she was affectionately called, was known for her gentle, sweet spirit. She was a selfless person and never hesitated o help her family, friends, or anyone in need. Her doors were always open and she always had a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on. Mother Walker enjoyed the basics of life and treasured time spent with her family and friends. She touched the lives of people around her in a very special way.
On Thursday, March 15, 2018, she answered the Master's call to come home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lindsey Walker; two daughters, Gwendolyn Green and Patricia Walker; and five siblings, George Latimer, Terry Latimer, Frances O'Neal, Elouise Willis, and Claudia Jones.
Fond memories will forever remain in the hearts of her children, Cedric Walker and Nicollette Jackson; six grandchildren, LaQunta (Rommal) King who cared for her until her demise, Novette (Jekerri) Lunsford of Atlanta, GA, Nicovette Jackson of Albany, GA, Sean Jackson of Virginia Beach, VA, and Zanahary Walker and Ipharoah Walker of Atlanta, GA; eight great grandchildren, Jamale King, Xavien Lunsford, Kawon King, Jamilya King, Shaniya King, Jekarri Lunsford, Jr., Alain Jackson, and Carmen Jackson; one sibling, Apostle Anvert Latimer of Atlanta, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; a very special god-sister, Beatrice; a devoted caregiver, Diane Willis; and extended family and friends.
