Obituary

Evangelist Mildred Wooden was a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ.  She was born the daughter of the late Reverend Joseph and Emma Mae Mitchell on January 19, 1947, in Sylvester, Georgia.

She attended the public schools of Worth County, graduating with high honors from J. W. Holley High School.

She came to know the Lord at the early age of eight years old.  As she continued her walk with the Lord in later years, she co-founded Jesus Christ Gospel Prayer House of Holiness Deliverance Church in Poulan, Georgia with her husband.   Evangelist Wooden was an instrument that God used to bring many souls to Him.  She also helped establish numerous churches in the Albany area.  The anointing of God that was upon her life affected the lives of many others.  She was a woman of faith and a prayer warrior who dedicated her life to praising and glorifying God.

Evangelist Wooden was a devoted wife and loving mother of eight wonderful children.  She was steadfast in fostering a Christian home filled with love, joy, and strong values.  Through the years, she was a wife of noble character and a mother whose children called her blessed.

Although there were many trials and tribulations in her life, she won her victory and went home to be with Jesus.  She departed this earthly life on Friday, October 25, 2019, at Orlando Heath Central Hospital in Orlando, Florida.  Along with her parents and husband, she was  preceded in death by five siblings, Joseph Mitchell, Clifford Mitchell, Alice Mae Allen, Emma Bell Rush, and Edward Mitchell.

She leaves to cherish her memories, eight children, Shanell Coley Perkins, Timothy Coley (Pamela), Carla Payton (Jerome), Charnina Wooden, Camithria Hicks (Keith), Prisca Wooden, Titus C. Wooden, and Jared C. Wooden; ten siblings, Benjamin Mitchell, Adell Mitchell, Fred Mitchell, Robert Lee Mitchell (Ann), Geneva Rush, Willie James Mitchell (Mae), Columbus Mitchell (Sherrice), Ananias Mitchell, Louise Davis (James), and Margaret Mathis (Robert); grandchildren, Dominique, Timothy Jr., Jasmine, Aristarchus, Andrew, Genesis, Gabriella, Naomi, Natalie, Emmanuel, Jaila, Keith, Jr., Aiyanna, Paris, and Reign; six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
