IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Evelina Lewis
Sloan
August 7, 1950 – December 18, 2020
Evelina Lewis Sloan, beloved daughter of the late Eva Lewis and Jimmy Anderson, was born in Leesburg, Georgia on August 7, 1950.
She received her formal education in the Lee County School System, including Lee County Training School where she graduated in 1969.
Throughout her childhood, Evelina was nurtured in the word of God. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with Piney Grove #3 Baptist Church in Lee County. In later years, she united with the Spring Creek Missionary Baptist Church and served faithfully for many years. Over the years, she remained a faithful servant and continued her Christian walk with the Lord at New Life of Albany until her health declined. Even in the midst of adversity and challenges, she remained steadfast in service—always giving God the glory.
Evelina was united in holy matrimony to Nathaniel Sloan, Sr.. Their union stood endured through the years as they honored their vows to love and cherish each other. She was a wife and mother who worked untiringly for many years to provide unconditionally for her family. Evelina's employment with Cagle's Keystone afforded many diverse work experiences and rewarding opportunities. She took great pride in her work; stayed the course to ensure that no task was ever left undone; and retired after rendering 15 years of dedicated service.
Often described as a kind and good-hearted individual with a spirit of peace, Evelina had an endless reservoir of love for family and friends. She was the sunshine in many hearts and never knew a stranger. Anyone who loved and knew her definitely knew that she was a lady who was true to her word. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of being a part of her life.
On December 18, 2020, Evelina was called home to be with the Lord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Moses Bank and David Rivers, Sr.
