IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Evelyn J.
Adams
September 20, 1941 – August 4, 2021
Evelyn Jeanette Collier Adams was born on September 20, 1941, in Albany, Georgia. She was the youngest of twelve children born to Henry and Mamie Collier. Early in life, Evelyn accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior.
She attended the public schools of Dougherty County, including Monroe High School and actively participated in various student activities and events.
Evelyn was united in marriage to Joe Lewis Adams, Sr. Their commitment and dedication to each other was unshakeable and lasted until his demise. As a wife, mother, and homemaker, she diligently cared for the needs of her family and supported them in all their endeavors. She was the rock and foundation for her family and never hesitated to extend her warmth and care even in the most difficult times.
Often described as strong, kind, and independent, Evelyn was a determined individual who made the most of every day and inspired others with her fearless but welcoming spirit. She believed deeply in unconditional love and stood ready to help anyone in need—always with a smile and never asking anything in return. Evelyn had truly infectious presence about her. She was kind-hearted, gracious, funny, giving, and she left an unforgettable imprint on everyone she met.
On August 4, 2021, Evelyn transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace and rest with the Lord. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joe Lewis Adams, Sr.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by her sons, Joe Lewis (Dodnella) Adams, Jr. and Cortez (Patricia) Collier; grandchildren, LaShaunida McCray, Chakeytha Adams, and Aleesa Collier; great grandchildren, Quantavia Lawson and Taurean McCray; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
