Fannie Mae Wheeler, beloved daughter of the late Eugene Clements and Irene Murray, was born in Bainbridge, Georgia on September 22, 1931.
Residing in Camilla, Georgia during the early years of her life, she received her formal education in the Mitchell County Public School System. Throughout school, she was a very attentive student who garnered much from her educational experiences. In later years, she relocated to Albany, Georgia and began a new chapter in her life.
Fannie was a loving and caring mother who looked well to the ways of her household. As a homemaker, she diligently cared for the needs of her family. She was blessed not only with children, but grandchildren and great grandchildren who were a source of joy and pride in her life. The family shared many happy and precious moments together and truly enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. In her free time, she enjoyed shopping, cooking, eating mouthwatering soul food, and traveling.
Ms. Fannie Devoted mother, caring sister, nurturing aunt, reliable cousin, and compassionate friend, Ms. Fannie was a good natured, generous lady with a big heart and a pleasure to be around. In her family, she was the "calm in the storm—the glue that held them together." She believed deeply in unconditional love, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and delighted in helping and caring for others. Her friendliness and kindness to all people and her devotion and love for her family and friends are lasting tributes to the beauty of her heart and soul. Her soft voice, sweet personality, and beautiful smile will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of being a part of her life.
On September 9, 2023, Ms. Fannie's 91-year earthly journey ended when she answered the Master's call to eternal peace and rest. In addition to her parents, she preceded in death by one son, John Lee Marion; and one granddaughter, Stephanie Dawson.
Loving memories will forever remain in the hearts of her children, Leon Marion, Larry Jones, Patsy Wheeler, Johnnie Dawson, and Eugene Wheeler; her sister, Annie Turner; 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
