IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Felton Eural
Hampton
July 5, 1960 – November 16, 2022
Felton Eural Hampton was born in Albany, Georgia, on July 5, 1960. He was the loving son of the late Thelma Brown and Walter Lee Hampton. Felton was also nurtured by his bonus mother, the late Edna Hampton.
He received his early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Monroe Comprehensive High School. While at Monroe, he gained valuable technical and industrial skills that spurred him to continue his education at Albany Area Vocational School where he completed the requirements to become a certified electrician.
In 1985, Felton married his childhood friend, Jacqueline Arline and they were blessed with a loving daughter, Shavoker. Later, after meeting his soul mate Linda Brown, an astounding romance and courtship ensued—they were joined in marriage in 2008. Felton and Linda shared a love that was unshakeable and knew no boundaries—a love that endured until she went home to be with the Lord in 2019. While they shared a deep love for each other, they also shared a greater love for the Lord. Felton, ultimately began his journey of Christian stewardship alongside his wife at Grace Emmanuel Ark of the Covenant Worship Center under the guidance and leadership of Pastor McArthur Rouse, Jr. He was a faithful member who served diligently as a Deacon and in numerous other capacities wherever needed.
Over the years, having mastered the skills necessary to become an A-1 electrician, Felton worked untiringly with Bradford Electric Company. He was ambitious and gave his very best for more than 25 years and was highly respected and valued in the industry throughout Southwest Georgia. No job was too large or too small; he always tackled each assignment with equal measure and fortitude.
Endearingly called "Big Hamp" by family and friends, Felton was multi-talented; a great communicator who loved to share stories and words of wisdom; and he had the unique ability to draw people to him. He always had a positive attitude, was quick to smile and laugh, and was an expert at making people feel good about life. Big Hamp loved his family unconditionally and delighted in spending time with them. He also prided himself in having relationships and friendships full of love, humor, and respect. He will be long remembered for his kind words, deeds, and congenial spirit.
On November 16, 2022, Felton peacefully transitioned from this earthly life to his eternal home. In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Johnny Mae Jones, Cornelia Mathis, Debra Corley-Dawson, Jessie Hampton, Joseph Campbell, Michael Campbell, Elliot Ray Finkley, Willie C. Hampton, and Walter Lee Middleton, Sr.
Loving memoiies will forever remain in the hearts of his children, Shavoker LaShay Hampton (Tony) and Eric B. (Lakesha) McCray; siblings, Dorothy (Vince) Hayes, Michelle (Monty) Gore, Selena Jones, Bernice Owens, and Silver Jones; grandchildren, Shadavia (AJ) Jackson, Chauntoria McCray, Erionna McCray, Lakeith Lawrence, Jr., Zay'Brion Lawrence, Eric N.
