IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Florida Mae
Williams
July 1, 1952 – February 9, 2020
Florida Mae Williams was born in Albany, Georgia on July 1, 1952. She was the beloved daughter of the late Chester Solomon and Beulah Lee Jolly Solomon.
During the early years of her life, Florida was educated in the Dougherty County School System and was active in many school organizations and activities.
At a very early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. In later years while living in Augsburg, Germany, she united with the Augsburg Pentecostal Church. She was a faithful member who readily assisted wherever needed. Through the years, she remained obedient in her walk with the Lord—always giving God the praise.
Domestic at heart, Florida was constant in her efforts to provide unconditionally for her family. She was employed in various capacities with the Federal Government in Ft. Hood, Texas, Oklahoma, and Augsburg, Germany. Her final assignment was with the Department of Defense as a supply clerk at Fort Wainwright Army Base in Fort Wainwright, Alaska where she retired after rendering innumerable years of loyal and dedicated service.
Florida was a very perceptive, good natured, and genuine person who was a joy to be around. She was a lady whose heart was filled with love and compassion, unparalleled kindness, and who always had a ready smile and a helping hand. Family and friends were among her most prized blessings. She had a wonderful way of connecting with her children, grandchildren, siblings, and friends—always encouraging their hearts. She will be missed by all who loved her dearly.
On Sunday, February 9, 2020, Florida departed this earthly life in Wasilla, Alaska. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jason Parker and sister, Annie Lee Solomon Davis.
Loving memories will be forever cherished by her children, Sophia L. Williams and Gable Parker; siblings, George Solomon, Abe Solomon, Willie (Glenda) Solomon, Evelyn S. Jackson, and Katie (Terry) Mitchell; grandsons, Kenneth L. Patrick, Jr. and Benjamin Allen Bell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
