Obituary

Florrie Mae Brown Pruitt was born in Camilla, Georgia, on July 9, 1930.  She was the beloved daughter of the late George McClinton Brown & Adele Williams Brown.

In her early years, she was educated at Rockdale School in Camilla where she gained valuable technical and life skills.

Florrie, very early in life, was taught the Word of God and the importance of living a life of strong character and loving kindness.  She confessed Christ as her Lord and Saviour and united with Union Baptist Church in Camilla.

Florrie was united in holy matrimony on April 8, 1950 to Frank Pruitt, Sr. who preceded her in death. She was a loving wife and a doting mother who dedicated her life to the care of her family.  Family was paramount to her and nothing was more important than the care and well-being of her loved ones. Getting together as a family and just laughing, talking, and having a good old time was her favorite thing to do. Her laugh was so contagious or affectious, and she had a smile that was so beautiful, it would warm any heart. She also loved her high heeled shoes and was known to be a very fashionable dresser. If she was going right down-town to pay a bill, she was going to dress up and put on her high heels, even if she had to walk.

On July 22, 2022, Almighty God called her from labor to reward. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her 10 siblings and their spouses, James (Louise) Brown, Pauline (Shadrach) Smith, Jeraline (James) Smiley, Lula (Hubert) Gray, Mollie Mae (Johnnie Will) Jess, Rosetta (Calvin) Thomas, Lillian (W. H.) Riggins, Betty (Alton) McClain, Doris (Willie) Shepphard, and George Brown; and two great grandchildren.

Memories of her loving and gentle spirit will forever be cherished by her children Frederick (Gloria) Pruitt, Frank (Alfreda) Pruitt, and Rodney (Sheila) Pruitt; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbors, and friends.
