Frances
Luke
March 20, 1945 – October 5, 2019
A Time to Be Born: Frances Luke was born in Leesburg, Georgia on March 20, 1945. She was the daughter of the late David Luke, Sr. and Catherine Luke.
A Time to Learn: She attended the public schools of Dougherty County, including Monroe High School where she was actively involved in various school organizations and activities.
A Time to Serve: From a very young age, Frances was nurtured in the Word of God. As a youth, she began her Christian journey and united with the First Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of the choir and willingly helped in other capacities whenever called upon.
A Time to Nurture and Love: Frances was a very independent person who had an everlasting love for her children. Those who encountered her often described her as a caring, hardworking mother who provided unconditionally for her family. For more than 40 years, she worked untiringly in domestic services and retired when her health declined. Over the years, she remained constant in her efforts to foster a home filled with love, humility, and respect for one another.
A Time to Embrace: Devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Frances lived a life of kindness and compassion. You could not find a better friend, listener, advisor, or confidant. Throughout her life, she unselfishly gave of herself to help improve the quality of life for others. She was an exceptional cook and enjoyed preparing culinary delights for family and friends who were among her greatest joys. She had a spirit of sunshine, humor, and laughter that could be felt by everyone around her. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her dearly.
