IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frankie Mae
Thomas
April 22, 1954 – August 19, 2022
Frankie Mae Clay Thomas, daughter of the late Willie Frank Clay and Vera Newsome Clay, was born April 22, 1954.
She was educated in the public schools of Dougherty County, graduating from Monroe High School in 1972. While at Monroe, she participated in the band and numerous other student organizations. Frankie was a very perceptive young lady with a zeal for learning and a yearning desire to help others.
At a very early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with the Jordan Grove Baptist Church. In later years, she continued her walk with the Lord at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church of Leary, Georgia where she served faithfully as an Usher and assisted with the Junior Choir and Junior Usher Board. She dearly loved the Lord and never ceased to give Him praise.
Fannie was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Woodrow Thomas, Sr. on May 22, 1977. They shared a love that was strong while honoring their vows to cherish and respect one another. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who looked well to the ways of her household and ate not the bread of idleness. Over the years, she cared for the needs of her family through her employment at Nut Tree Pecan Company, Albany Health Care, and private housekeeping. No matter what the task, she stayed the course to ensure that nothing was ever left undone.
Spending time with family and friends was a source of joy for Frankie and she looked forward to events that brought them together in love and harmony. Never one to meet a stranger, she had the innate ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. Those who met her once could easily gain an ally for life—for in her, they quickly found a kind and generous friend.
On August 19, 2022 Frankie transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace and rest with the Lord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Willie Pratt Clay, Bobby Newsome, Dennis Clay, Sr., and Lillie Ruth Clay; and her stepdaughter, Roszita Murray.
Her love and memory will be forever cherished by her beloved husband, Woodrow Thomas, Sr. of Albany, GA; her children, Shalanda Massey, Luciana (Charlie) Barrett, Myra Thomas, and Woodrow (Tiffany) Thomas, Jr. all of Albany, GA; stepdaughter, Natasha Cole of Albany, GA; siblings, Alice Woodard of Albany, GA and and Juanita (Fletcher) Woods of Boston, MA; sisters-in-law, Susie Clay, Aretha (Mike) Jackson, Dell (Jeffery) McKinnley, and Delois (Master Diamond) Mosley; brothers-in-law, Paul Thomas and Willie (Marion) Thomas; special friends, Phyllis Williams and Lula Marshall; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
