IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Franklin Stewart
Rivers
September 29, 1964 – August 9, 2023
Franklin Stewart Rivers was born in Albany, Georgia on September 29, 1964. He was the second of three children in the union of the late Willie Fred and Eva Pearl Rivers.
He received his early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Albany High School in 1983. Throughout school, Franklin was an energetic young man who loved sports—especially football. Having a great zeal for learning, he continued his education at Albany Technical College and earned multiple diplomas and certificates in Paint & Body Mechanics, Welding, and Automotive Collision Repair.
Franklin grew up in a strong Christian home where he was nurtured in the Word of God. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal savior, was baptized, and continued his walk with the Lord at Church of the Living Word. His faith and trust in God guided his life and he remained steadfast in his daily walk.
Big Frank, as he was endearingly called, became an entrepreneur at a young age. Everyone knew he was a self-starter who took great interest in car detailing. During his career, Franklin invested much time and energy in providing exceptional detailing services while employed at Pritchett Ford, Wallace Chevrolet, and Albany Motor Cars; in addition to operating several successful businesses, including Rivers Classic Car Detail, Glass House, and Frank's Exotic Details. His unquestionable work ethic and superior customer service enabled him, in later years, to obtain a detailing contract with Albany Honda until his demise. His very unique talent was truly amazing and his attention to detail was impeccable. He was ambitious and gave his best at everything that he did. Frank was an inspiring example of a successful businessman, mentor, and role model who generously gave his time and talents to help other young entrepreneurs.
Devoted husband, loving father, doting grandfather, unfailing brother and uncle, committed cousin, and loyal friend, Frank's heart was filled with kindness, care, and compassion for that that he encountered. He never met a stranger and always found a silver lining in every situation. To know him was to dearly love him—he will be sorely missed by all who were blessed by his friendship and love.
On August 9, 2023, Franklin transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest with the Lord. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Lillian Riggins Williams and Grace Johnson.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by his wife, Dorothy Blocker Rivers; his children, Toshirio Rivers, Tameka Blocker, Terrance (Toya) Blocker, and Brandon Blocker; grandchildren, T'Asia Sanders, Brandon Blocker, Jr., Irvin Ellis, Terrance Blocker, Jr., Dra Greene, Katlyn Blocker, Myesha Ellis, Marley Ellis, Braylyn Fletcher, and Paris Starling; godson, Terrance (TJ) Wallace; sisters, Sheila Rivers and Patricia Rivers; mother-in-law, Kate Pullins; sisters -in-law, Sylvia Gordon, Gloria Gordon, Michelle Pullins, and Denise Pullins; brother-in-law, Frankie Pullins; aunts and uncles, Eleanor Glaze, Helen Riggins, Barbara Whitaker, Roberta Johnson, Tiny Rivers, Shaltid Johnson, and Grady Johnson; great aunts, Addie Rivers, Annie M.
