Freddye Mae Ealey was born to Freddie Davis and Evergreen Everson on October 10, 1940 in Sylvester, Georgia. She attended local schools in Worth County, Georgia. During her early teenage years, the family experienced the death of her mother and she was relocated to Albany, Georgia to be reared by her mother's sister Alice James, who was a traveling minister.
At the tender age of 12, she became responsible for the care of her newborn sister, Dorothy, whom she raised until adulthood. This was the beginning of her lifelong passion of caring for the souls of babies and those that needed the love of a mother. As a child, she walked into her destiny until she was called home.
Freddye Mae was united in holy matrimony to Samuel Ealey, Jr. on January 3, 1959. She was the proud mother of Curtis, Cassandra, Karen and Engrid. She was employed at M&M Mars from 1966-1996 as a Quality Sorter/Inspector in the Golden Peanut Section. She retired after 30 years of service. Her job provided the opportunity to make beautiful friendships that would last a lifetime.
She dedicated her life to CHRIST at an early age and was a member of Greater Second Mount Olive Baptist Church, Albany, Georgia, where Reverend Charlie W. Heath presided; currently, Reverend Lorenzo L. Heard is the presiding pastor.
Freddye Mae was preceded in death by her father, Freddie Davis, her mother, Evergreen Davis, her sister, Dorothy Irvin and her aunt, Alice James.
