Obituary

Genious Leon Bryant, Sr., son of the late  Lewis Bryant, Sr. and Willie C. Nix Bryant, was born in Albany, Georgia on April 8, 1962.

He was educated in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Monroe Comprehensive High School in 1980.  After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he became a Master Chef.  Upon completion of his four-year tour of duty, he was honorably discharged and, thereafter, transitioned to a career as a construction worker with LRA Construction Company until his demise.

Genious was united in marriage to the love of his life, Delinda Jones.  They shared a bond that was strong and unshakeable.  He was a caring husband and father who devoted much of his time and energy caring for the needs of his family and treasured  the moments spent with them.  Family was foremost in his life!

Over the years, Genious had many interests and passions that he was always busy pursuing.  He believed deeply in unconditional love, enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, and was an exceptional cook who delighted in grilling and preparing scrumptious dishes for family and friends.  His love, friendship, and encouraging words will always be remembered.

On May 6, 2021, Genious departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two siblings, Brenda Gilbert and Jay Brown.

He leaves to mourn his passing and celebrate the memories of his life a loving and devoted wife Delinda Jones Bryant of Albany, GA; his sons, Genious Bryant, Jr. of San Diego, CA and Rio Bryant of Las Vegas NV; five siblings, Louis Bryant, Jr., Fearon A. Bryant, Alice B. Jones, Bettye L. Bryant, and Jacquelyn Bryant all of Albany, GA; stepchildren and grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins; a special co-worker, Jim Butler of Leesburg, GA; and a host of extended family and friends.
