A Time To Be Born: George Carter was born in Albany, Georgia on on October 27, 1938. He was the beloved son of the late Mary Bell Thomas Worthy and Daniel Carter.
A Time To Learn: He received his formal education in the public schools of Dougherty County and was active in numerous school functions and activities..
A Time To Serve: During the early years of his life, George accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and attended the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Leesburg, Georgia.
A Time To Love: He was united in holy matrimony to Sylvia Johnson. They shared a love that knew no boundaries and a devotion to one another that grew strong with time. He was a devoted husband and proud father who was diligent in caring for the needs and well-being of his family.
A Time To Embrace: George was a very conscientious individual who embraced opportunities and the chance to experience life with open arms. He was goodhearted and had an everlasting love for family and friends. He was a loving brother, a nurturing uncle, a caring cousin, and a loyal friend who always stood ready to lend a helping hand. In the midst of terminal health challenges, George remained courageous and upbeat, never complained, and was truly grateful for every good thing that came his way. He will be deeply missed by all who dearly loved him.
A Time To Die: On Sunday, August 11, 2019, George quietly entered into eternal rest at Phoebe Putney memorial Hospital. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sylvia Johnson Carter; and his stepfather, Fred Worthy.
A Time To Cherish: Loving memories will forever be cherished by his children, Gloria (Arthur) Brown of Cross, SC, George R. (Sherry) Carter of Anaheim, CA, and Sharline Johnson and Donnel Carter of Albany, GA; siblings, Ora Bentley of Goose Creek, SC, Ethel (Alex) Lewis, Mattie (Roosevelt) Briley), Ernest (Carol) Worthy, Marvin (Annie) Worthy, and Jerome (Sabrina) Worthy all of Albany, GA, and Johnny (Linda) Worthy of Tifton, GA; two very special and devoted friends, Willie C. "Dutchie Boy" Johnson and Mattie Johnson; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
